This week in class, two of my classes performed skits of their own creation as a post-finals activity. Sometimes, getting my students to be creative is like pulling teeth, but they went nuts with the skits. Notable among them were renditions of “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Merchant of Venice.” My favorite quote from the various performances was “I love you like mice love rice.” This is actually a line lifted from an oft-sung Chinese pop song, but he said it very earnestly.
