Daunting. That's mostly what comes to mind at the thought of sharing this slice of my life with a horde of faceless readers who may fumble their way here. The feeling that anyone can click into my published thoughts seems comparable to jumping off a cliff into murky water, but I'm not expecting the teaming masses to come pounding at this blog's door. This particular blog (such a funny word...it sounds like blob...like this speck of cyberspace is just an amorphous goo of words) is mostly for those of you who want a glimpse, however tiny, into my adventures in China. May it be entertaining, encouraging, and challenging to you.

Here is a map of China for your scrutiny. I am still anxiously awaiting my teaching placement. When I know, you will know. In the meantime, here is the fact of the day: China has one-fifth of the ENTIRE world's population. That's 1.3 billion people. (!!)
